What Is Fire?

Fire is the glorious manifestation of God’s presence.
Fire is spirit in action, by which it destroys all works that are evil.

God Is Consuming Fire

God is holy because there is no evil in Him or from Him, and there is no evil that can enter into His kingdom. His nature maintains this by being a Consuming Fire that destroys every work of unrighteousness.

The Importance Of Fire

1.     Fire is the very nature of Spirit, God.

2.     The fire means the presence of God. That is why you shall keep the light, candlelight, burning at the altar.

o    The Angel of Yahweh appeared to the Israelites in the shape of a pillar of fire. Yahweh went before them, in the form of a pillar of fire to give them light.

o    God will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire, even so as God anointed the seventy elders with the powers of the Holy Spirit, for various works and services.

o    Our God is a Consuming Fire.

3.     Fire purifies from every unholiness. That was why the Israelites passed some of their loots through fire.

4.     In the form of flame, fire is able to consume (destroy) all things, especially things that are evil.

5.     Fire in the form of heat is able to penetrate all things.

6.     In the form of light, it is able to reach all things that are far away.

The Time Of Pentecost

This is a period in which to:

1.     Express our thanksgiving to God.

2.     Sing praises to God.

3.     Pray to be washed clean with baptism of consuming fire of the Holy Spirit, blood of Jesus and water of life.

4.     Pray for the empowerment, ennoblement, success and prosperity.

5.     Celebrate.

6.     Perform deliverance by binding and casting away evil spirits, demons, mermaid, ghosts, witches, idols, charms and black energies.

7.     Obtain and manifest our spiritual talents.

8.     Give gift to all and sundry, especially the poor and needy ones among the children of God.

9.     Erect an altar to the Lord, in our house, office, company, organizations etc, just by burning candles, by using candlelights, every day for seven days before the Pentecost.

10.    Renew the altar of the Lord in our life and places of residence.

Everyday Significance

The Pentecost points to the characteristics of the Holy Spirit. It is our duty to emulate the characteristics of the Holy Spirit, and to spurn (turn away from) every form of evil. We should do this by ensuring decency, holiness, peace, honesty, harmony and righteousness, in our everyday conduct and dressing.

How To Celebrate The Feast Of Pentecost

(Also Called The Feast of Weeks)

'And you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed. Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to the Lord. You shall bring from your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven. They are the first fruits to the Lord. And you shall offer with the bread seven lambs of the first year, without blemish, one young bull, and two rams. They shall be as a burnt offering to the Lord, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, an offering made by fire for a sweet aroma to the Lord. Then you shall sacrifice one kid of the goats as a sin offering, and two male lambs of the first year as a sacrifice of a peace offering. The priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruits as a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs. They shall be holy to the Lord for the priest. And you shall proclaim on the same day that it is a holy convocation to you. You shall do no customary work on it. It shall be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

'When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field when you reap, nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the Lord your God.'"

"And you shall observe the Feast of Weeks, of the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year's end.

Offerings At The Feast Of Weeks

'Also on the day of the first fruits, when you bring a new grain offering to the Lord at your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work. You shall present a burnt offering as a sweet aroma to the Lord: two young bulls, one ram, and seven lambs in their first year, with their grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil: three-tenths of an ephah for each bull, two-tenths for the one ram, and one-tenth for each of the seven lambs; also one kid of the goats, to make atonement for you. Be sure they are without blemish. You shall present them with their drink offerings, besides the regular burnt offering with its grain offering.

The Feast of Weeks Reviewed

"You shall count seven weeks for yourself; begin to count the seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the grain. Then you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God with the tribute of a freewill offering from your hand, which you shall give as the Lord your God blesses you. You shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are among you, at the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide. And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful to observe these statutes.
